Uncle burger + Rudd Money
June 24, 2009My uncle owns and runs Jolly Jumbuck lunch bar in Welshpool. I popped in today after seeing a client and got an “Uncle” burger. A few friends who work in Welshpool regularly visit this lunchbar and have deemed the buger the “Uncle” burger. I must say he makes good burgers. If you’re ever in the area (pilbara st) pop in and give his food a try!
On another note, everyone is bugging me to buy a new car! I had decided against it but today my uncle and his friend kept egging me on to get one because of the fantastic 50% tax break. It’s great if I was going to buy a new car anyway but I wasn’t. If I do decide to get a car, I have until next Tuesday to get one. I did the numbers and if I bought a $20,000 car, that would mean I would get taxed on $10,000 less income which amounts to a $3000 saving in tax. If I do buy a new car, i’ll lose $3000 – $5000 when I drive it away. Is it really worth it? Some say money saved is money earnt – but really is this just another government ploy to get me to buy something I don’t need and thus stimulate the enonomy? Let me know what you think…

Don’t buy more stuff! You have awesome stuff and the world has far too much stuff. Reuse old stuff I say. Well unless you were going to buy a van…
