Moonwalker
August 22, 2009So on Friday night we were shopping in the city and noticed that JB hifi had a buy 2 get one free deal. Now that doesn’t sound all that impressive but what got me was the fact that Michael Jackson’s ‘Moonwalker’ was one of the titles. I though that if I got that, I may as well have gotten 2 other movies. After a lot of procrastination, I picked out ‘Shawshank Redemption’ and ‘Hero’ (for a bit of kung fu action).
As a kid, Moonwalker was one of my favorite titles, I loved the movie, I loved the PC and Sega games that followed. Watching it again after all those years made me realise that Moonwalker was the most random movie ever! I’m not sure it was even a movie! The DVD consisted mainly of a lot of short excerpts from his video clips and then a short movie that had no real plot.
One of the many parts that won me over was Mike’s ability to transform into a car and a slow moving spaceship/robot – far fetched yes, but transforming robot, nicely choreographed dancing and poor plot = a winner. The best part of the whole DVD would have to be the ‘Smooth Criminal’ scene – if I got the DVD for anything, it would have been for a high quality version of that video clip.
